Wow ... January was a busy month! During our Christmas travels, Lydia contracted a virus called RSV. For older children and adults, this is not that serious, but for young babies it can be fatal. Lydia was hospitalized for several days and Daddy and Mommy tried not to worry. Many prayers were answered, though, and God healed her little body just in time for her to come home and celebrate Daddy and Mommy's birthdays! Lydia also saw her first snow - even though it was only for a moment and there
was only about 1/2 inch of it! .JPG)

Lydia ~ 3 Months
Lydia celebrated her first Christmas this month! Although she was virtually unaware of the festivities, she reminded us of the first Christmas gift ever given - God's Son. I think I gained a whole new perspective on Mary and Joseph this year!
We were able to spend some time with both sides of our family and everyone enjoyed seeing the newest addition!
Lydia ~ 2 Months
We celebrated Thanksgiving this month and we definitely had much to be thankful for! Lydia was growing, getting more alert and started sleeping about eight hours at night! (which was wonderful for her sleep deprived parents!) She really enjoyed hanging out in her swing and began to focus on people when they spoke to her. We also took our first family vacation to Myrtle Beach, to celebrate Daddy and Mommy's sixth wedding anniversary!
Lydia ~ 1 Month
Lydia's first holiday was Halloween and she was definitely a cute little pumpkin! She had several more visitors during the month of October, and the pictures show a few of them. We took Lydia with us to Winston-Salem (about 2 hours away) when she was 20 days old, to help us celebrate her great-grandmother's birthday! We also attended our church's Harvest Festival and Lydia went on her first hayride! She had already brought us so much joy!
Welcome Home, Baby Girl!
A Rough Start...
The long labor process had taken it's toll on our baby girl, and because of that, and some other pre-term difficulties, Lydia had to spend two long days in the NICU. Daddy and Mommy went to visit her every couple of hours and asked many other people to pray along with them for her. She was well taken care of and enjoyed visiting, cuddling and eating!
