We appreciate the support we have received from our family and friends. Please continue to keep our family in your prayers. This has been a very difficult two years for the Winsteads, but we know that the Lord will sustain us by His grace and provide us with His peace.

Special Prayer Request
Please pray for Mel's family as his father passed away this week. The timing, at least, was quite a shock, and the family truly needs your prayers. Most of you will probably remember that they lost a brother about a year and a half ago. Please also pray for unity and peace within the family - and healing and forgiveness where it is needed.
We appreciate the prayers and your support!

Valentine's Day 2009

~ Valentine's 2009 ~
We had a fun day just hanging out together as a family - enjoying a lunch date and running errands! :) Lydia continues to amaze us almost daily and definitely keeps us entertained! While we were in Wal-Mart today, she decided that she would like to "help" Mommy push the shopping cart and amazingly, she succeeded! She also enjoys "winking" at people and waving at just about every human being we see - even if they do not pay attention. She enjoys telling us the sounds made by various animals and responding "CHURCH" when someone asks her where her Daddy works! She is learning and growing so quickly and we are trying to enjoy every moment!

Snow Day 2

When we went to bed around midnight last night, the weather forcast for our area was for a "few flurries that would definitely NOT stick," so you can imagine our surprise when we woke up to a white world once again. Lydia had even more fun this time - I think because the snow wasn't as deep and she could walk a little better. She also enjoyed helping Mommy make some treats and "taste-testing" them!

Lydia ~ 16 Months

Lydia is really starting to enjoy a variety of activities throughout the day. She has been content to play pretty independently for months, and continues to do so, and we are really thankful for that. She does not like to play in a room alone, yet, though, so we are working on teaching her to play in her room for a short time while Mommy does something else. I know the time will come when she is all too eager to run off and do her "own thing" though, so I'm trying not to rush her. We really enjoy watching her "read" to her dolls and have her bring us books that she would like to have us read to her. Some of her other favorite activities are wearing this little lavendar backpack that came with one of her dolls, chasing the dog (which she is getting better at, the better she gets at walking/running), climbing the stairs (thankfully, we only have two!), and "playing" the piano. She has also enjoyed going to several of Daddy's basketball games this month, but can't quite understand why she can't join those big guys on the court!

Falling down is almost as fun as running around!
